The park:

E. Carrol Joyner Park is a 117-acre park located in Wake Forest. The trail is completely paved, offering a relaxing and easy walk. Throughout the park there are many benches. These benches are great places to sit and take photos. The park offers many opportunities to take pictures. The park also features a body of water near the back of the park. This water makes a great spot for fishing or looking for wildlife (scroll for more information). E. Carroll Joyner Park is very open as well. The perfect spot to play a game of catch with friends or to relax and have a picnic.

Fishing and wildlife:

While we didn't fish on our trip, that doesn't mean you shouldn't! During our trips we have seen many people fishing here, meaning it's a good spot to fish. If you don't fish and would rather see wildlife, this park offers this as well. During our summer trip (pictures in winter), we saw many turtles in the water. If you like turtles or birds, then this place has great potential.

Bringing your dog

Dogs are allowed at this park, and for good reason. The park is huge and offers many places for your dog to sniff and walk around. There are bag stations in the park as well. Great for throwing away waste or getting a new bag. Dogs are required to be on a leash while in the park. All waste from your dog must also be picked up.

Other important information

In the center of the park, there are many historic buildings. While we won't be going in-depth in this article, these buildings are still very interesting to see. The buildings show what some of the older farm buildings looked like. If you're interested in reading more about this specific section, please read our second blog post on 1/24.
