Overview

Shelley Lake Park is a must-see if you're traveling, or even if you already live here. Shelley Lake Park offers something for everyone, from art to hiking. Whether you want to fish, watch for wildlife, or just casually hike, then this is the place to go.

What to do

When visiting Shelley Lake Park, there are plenty of things to try. Looking at the water and walking along the greenway trail aren't the only things you can do. The park offers an art center, two playgrounds, a basketball court, and even a fishing dock to fish at. In this blog, we'll be writing about the hiking aspect.

Why we love this park

There are a couple reasons why this is among our favorite parks. One of the reasons that stands out the most, though, is the wildlife here. During our trip we saw many types of wildlife, such as mallard ducks, geese, great blue herons, and even deer. It's safe to say that if you like wildlife, you'll like this trail. Shortly after you start hiking down the main greenway, you'll come across a large wooden bridge. We recommend you look for wildlife here. You'll see many types of birds in the water. If you're lucky, you may even see some take flight. Later during your hike, you may see a bald eagle nest. The park has some signs located around the trail giving you information about it. The nest is located on top of a tall tree near where you start to loop back. These are just a few reasons why we love Shelley Lake Park. We recommend you visit here yourself to experience them all.

Fitness

If you like running, biking, jogging with your pet dog, or fishing, then Shelley Park is worth checking out. Pets are allowed on the trail as long as they are leashed. Biking is also allowed in the park as long as you stay under 10 mph. If you love running, the park offers a fantastic layout to run a quick jog around the loop. As you can see, Shelley Lake Park offers many different activities for different people.

Photos

Shelley Lake Park offered some of the best photography out there. We took many pictures, but we picked out the best for this blog post. If you would like to see videos, please check out our YouTube channel. We got some really awesome videos of our hike that we'd love for you to see.
